After months of dedicated training the 1st match loomed large.
Would all the hard work put in by staff and players pay off?
The Cats faced up against the Colchester Gladiators in what turned out to be a tough match.
But into the 3rd and 4th quarters, Cambridge began to dominate the match and although they spurned the opportunity to go 2 points up, missing a field goal, they ran out winners by 8 points to nil, scoring the only touchdown of the match and receiving penalty points for illegal kicking in the end zone by a Colchester player.
